We’ve heard from a number of you in the Superhuman Go launch thread about questions regarding account linking, sign-in, and access since Coda became Superhuman Docs and accounts began moving under Superhuman. I’m starting a fresh thread to collect those reports in one place.
The goal is to keep these easier to track, easier to answer, and easier for the next person to find, rather than having them scattered across other threads.
What to post here:
Anything related to how your Coda, Grammarly, Superhuman Docs, or Superhuman account is being recognized as you move between products. For example:
- Getting bounced between Coda, Grammarly, Superhuman Docs, or Superhuman account flows
- Being signed into a new or empty account instead of the account with your existing docs, workspace, or subscription
- Seeing errors like “this account already exists,” “this account is already linked,” or “contact support”
- Trouble signing in with Google, Apple, magic links, SSO, or another login method after the transition
- Questions about which email address, login method, or product account your access is tied to
- Being asked to upgrade even though you believe your account should already include access
- Losing access to expected features after moving between product experiences
When you post, it helps to include which products you use, how you originally signed in, and where exactly things broke down.
Please don’t post payment details, full email addresses, or screenshots with personal information publicly. If we need to investigate anything sensitive, we’ll move it to a support channel.
Known issues and answers
I’ll keep a running summary here as responses and fixes come in, so you don’t have to read the whole thread to find what applies to you.
Thanks for helping keep this organized. The more clearly we can describe these cases, the faster they can get sorted.
Unfortunately, it’s unusable for me because 1) I have an old email (via Google Sign on) hooked up to Grammarly, 2) my new email hooked up to Superhuman Go, Email, and Docs and 3) no way to de-register or transfer my paid grammarly account to my new email and, since my new email is registered - I cannot do the normal email transfer because I get a “this account already exists” error. The rollout of this “integrated platform” has been totally dis-integrating. I have been a dedicated user of all three platforms prior to the merge, so I find this super frustrating.
Hi Daniel, I’m really sorry. That sounds incredibly frustrating, and you’re right that getting your Grammarly, Superhuman Go, Email, and Docs accounts aligned should be much easier than this.
I’m going to flag this with the team to see if there’s a faster async path for folks running into this, instead of having to post in the forum. I’ll DM you directly so we can get the right details without you having to share anything publicly.
I appreciate you raising this, especially as someone who’s been using all three products since before the merge.
Unfortunately, Superhuman Go is no longer working on the web version of SuperDocs since this update. There is no longer a way for me to spell-check without directly asking SuperDocs AI to do it.
Edit: Not sure what changed, but it is now showing spellcheck suggestions.
Hopefully, this will all be easier in the future, maybe having Grammarly built into SuperDocs.
Much like Daniel_king the whole Coda (now Docs) / Superhuman / Grammerly account merging is just a mess. I too had my Coda account setup as a Google login, I think I have now transfered that over (was not easy) but things are still confusing:
- If I go to my account settings in Docs, then Manage the “Sign-in & Password” I get taken to the main superhuman account page. Then click edit there and I’m taken to Grammerly account profile. So here I can update my password but no mention of superhuman or Docs and often it tries to get me to get a Grammerly subscription with no references to my Doc subscription or anything todo with Superhuman. This whole process is very dodgy.
- I want to try Go but when I go to go.superhuman.com it says I am on a free account but I have a Doc’s Pro plan so that is weird. I click upgrade, pick my workspace and it tells me I can’t upgrade to Superhuman Pro because my payment method isn’t supported.
- So I go back to Docs, I go to Admin settings and go into my Workspace Plan. Here it says I have a Pro plan, paid monthly and I have a credit card for payment. I click the Compare Plans button and I get taken the Superhuman plans page for docs. Here It shows Free / Pro / Business / Enterprise plans and there is no indication that I already have any plan with you other than the option to Downgrade to Free. The Pro plan (which I should have) has the “Get Superhuman Pro” button - but I already have this, don’t I?
My guess is that I have the old Coda Pro plan which looks the exact same to me as the new Superhuman Pro plan and that I have to manually “Upgrade” to it. What is bizarre is that you don’t do this automatically or email asking me to manually make the choice to move over to the Superhuman plan. Explain what will happen and guide me through this.
The whole thing is super confusing and I can only imagine stopping people from using all these new services that you are now offering. For the same money as I am paying now I should have Grammerly and Go access.
So now I just clicked the Get Superhuman Pro button, selected Monthly and now its wants my Credit details. BUT you already have all this setup in my Docs plan - if I subscribe to this Superhuman Pro plan will you cancel my Docs plan, will I get billed for both. Will everything get even more complicated and confusing?!?
I;m a big fan of Docs (Coda) and like what I see from all these other products but if you can’t sort out integrating some billing systems its a concern for how you are going to handle something as complicated as AI security and privacy. Hope you can sort it all out.
Hey Rob,
I’m sorry for the trouble here, and thank you for taking the time to write this up so clearly.
You’re right that this path should feel much simpler, especially for people who were already using one of the products in the suite. The transition across accounts, plans, etc. needs to feel seamless, and your post is a really helpful example of where that experience is creating unnecessary friction.
I’m going to share this with the team so we can look closely at where this is becoming a blocker. I’ll also DM you separately so we can help with your specific account and billing situation directly.
I’m going add my voice to this here because I’m completely confused. Having had a Coda Pro account and a Grammarly account, I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that my Superhuman Docs Pro-level account would then also allow me access to the Superhuman suite (minus mail) and wouldn’t require me to then add an additional subscription as of a Grammarly account. Having renewed the Coda plan in May as a Superhuman Pro account and then in July seeing the Grammarly account time out in terms of subscription, its new incarnation as a Superhuman One AI then said, “I’m a free account.” That this means that I can also not create agents or use the Docs Knowledge via agents in other platforms via Superhuman Go.
The only way I could fix this in the end was to subscribe to Superhuman. What it did was it seemed to work out a bridging cost based on my code subscription. I’m actually quite confused that this was a so-called code subscription when it happened that I resubscribed to Superhuman. It was under the banner Superhuman. It feels like I’ve been caught in some kind of legacy trap and ended up having to pay more. It’s hardly a good experience, given the pricing page, which has a very clear price that includes both that I pay before.
Assume this mess will be fixed going into the next subscription round, but in the meantime it left a bad taste. What would’ve been nice would’ve been, as the Grammarly subscription ended, recognising that there was a Superhuman Docs subscription there, it would automatically pick that up. Or when I subscribe to the Superhuman Docs, it would provide a small amount of pro rata credit based on the Grammarly subscription. The latter I didn’t mind, but the former, for me, is just not good, so then having to pay more to fix the error seems crazy.
I also looked at this announcement, and couldn’t figure out how to get it working. Between Long Covid, and a day job, I do not have time nor energy to struggle like this. Glad to see I am not the only one.
Unfortunately, Every. Single. Time. we go through the same process.
It is sad, because Coda is still heads and shoulders above the competition. Unfortunately it is an American thing - the concept of customer service just do not exist.
At all. They think CS consists of shouting “Welcome” when you enter a store…
Running into a related loop trying to access org admin settings.
Products/login: Signed into Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) as an Org Admin.
Where it breaks: Going to Admin → Security setup shows the “managed on coda.io during the transition” message with a “Manage security settings” button (needed to check our SAML/SCIM provisioning config). Clicking it redirects to coda.io. Logging in then prompts that the account needs to be updated/linked to Superhuman, with no option to skip. Completing that prompt just sends me back to the same Superhuman Docs Security setup screen — it loops indefinitely and never lands on the actual coda Security/Provisioning tab.
Tested in multiple browsers (including incognito), same result each time, so it doesn’t appear to be a local cookie/extension issue.
Hey @Bryan_S_Lawson!
I am actively working with the team to troubleshoot and will get right back to you.
