Our use case needs an alternative to [the depreciated parentRow formula.](https://help.coda.io/en/articles/5979455-canvas-column-type#h_f9b83619f0) Think of it like we have Ingredients, Dishes and Orders table, and need to multiply Ingredient quantities with the different Ordered Amount of each Dish. Tried with table reference column type and many others but.. can you please come up with a solution?

👋 @Balint_Drahota

i think what youre describing is a BOM (Bill of Materials) setup.

below is a link to a template that @Connor_McCormick1 has kindly shared a solution to 🙂

> Hi Community, Here’s another doc I wanted to share with you! I’ve built many inventory systems for my own company and for other people, and I frequently ran into complications. Finally, I think I’ve found a pattern that makes for a great starting point, so I wanted to share my inventory superpowers with the community slight_smile Reach for this template whenever you need to keep track of items that contain sub-items. Here’s a loom that gives you an intro to the doc: [Intro to Item Schema…](https://www.loom.com/share/a5fd8e2ee7334a8e9d9bc7af49983a5a)

hope this helps!

Cheers!
Mel
