Hi,
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue where clicking a “Copy to Clipboard” button results in whatever is being copied appending to whatever is already on the clipboard, rather than replacing it. This is never what I want to happen. It only seems to happen on MacOS (but happens both in the native app, and on the web).
It doesn’t happen all the time though, and there is a curious “indicator” - when it appends, there is a small “bip” sound played. When it replaces, no sound is made.
Is there something I can do to force it to always replace whatever is on the clipboard?
Thank you!
I have tested this - we use it all the time in our workflows - so if its broken; thats a big problem!
But we are not seeing this issue at all.
Is there some logic in your button that might be causing the ‘append’ behavior?
Max
Thanks @Max_OBrien . It’s such a strange thing. I will try to record a video of it happening and maybe send to coda support.
Cheers,
Robin
@Robin_Myrtillum can you share here as well? Or shoot me a DM? I can get this in front of the team ASAP.
I just tested this and it works as expected for me. Perhaps it is something inside your code? Can you share the code of your button?
Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for replying. I have finally had a chance to record a video that shows the problem. This is a completely new doc and it happens every time for me.

This is on an Intel Macbook. When I recorded this it was happening every time following this sequence. It happens both in a browser (both Chrome and Firefox based) and in the desktop app. Sometimes the same button will have the issue and sometimes not.
I couldn’t get it to repeat on my Silicon Mac. It’s quite new and I was sure it had done so but it’s certainly possible my memory is faulty. So perhaps it is Intel Mac specific.
Anyway, I still need to use my Intel Mac a lot so if it’s fixable, that would be great!
Thank you!
Very helpful, will circle back!
