going based off your answers - its hard to pinpoint if its due to limitations of cross doc (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EOPGpAvpm0) or a bug (e.g. Cross-Table Bug in Coda: Incorrect Column Mapping with Images

it needs to be tested per individual scenario.
nevertheless, my suggestion would be to contact coda support directly (if you havent already) …
