Feature Request: Disable the = formula pop up

I would like to use Coda for doc storage, however I use the = sign in a lot of my writing.

This creates frustration as formula editor window appears and I have to then double space or if I get it wrong it interrupts my writing flow.

Is it possible to have a simple toggle / setting that can easily turn this on and off for times when I don’t want the formula editor?

Hey @Christopher_Dasca,

Totally get this one, especially when you’re in a writing flow and not thinking about formulas at all.

A couple of things that should help: pressing Escape dismisses the pop-up instantly so you can keep going, and typing a space right after = typically prevents it from triggering in the first place.

Give those a shot and let me know if they do the trick!

Hey @Ruggy-Joesten, I settled on a double space. It’s not ideal as part of my mind stops to make sure it worked which adds a bit of friction to writing.

I know it’s not the biggest issue, it’s just these little friction points that I find can be the difference between app choices these days.

I totally get that!

Are you finding the double space is annoying, or something you’re able to work with?

It’s pretty annoying. I only realised after posting that double space was an alternative so still early days of testing.
