First Look: Refreshed Superhuman Community!

:sparkles: Welcome to the Refreshed Superhuman Community :sparkles:

Hi everyone,

As of this morning, the forum has a new look. We’ve officially migrated the community from Coda → Superhuman, and we want to walk you through what that means.

First, a practical note: the community now lives at connect.superhuman.com. All existing links will automatically redirect, so there will be no disruption to access or searchability.

A couple of things worth knowing upfront:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: The forum now has a Superhuman look and feel, but it will continue to function primarily as a Coda community for now. Later this year, we plan to welcome members from Grammarly and Superhuman Mail into the space.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: All the core functionality you rely on is exactly the same. You can still:

  • Create new topics

  • Jump into discussions

  • Vote on feature requests

  • Share feedback directly with our team

What’s changing is the experience around it.

What’s new

:sparkles: Simplified navigation and cleaner structure
We’ve streamlined categories to make it easier to find the right place for questions, ideas, and conversations. If anything you posted looks off or seems to have moved, let Emma or me know, and we’ll sort it out.

:artist_palette: A look aligned with the Superhuman brand
The visual design now matches the broader Superhuman ecosystem — cleaner, more focused, and easier on the eyes.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_right: Better search and discoverability
Finding relevant conversations, feature requests, and answers is faster and more reliable.

:waving_hand: Clearer onboarding for new members
First-time visitors now have a clear path to understanding how the community works, where to post, and how to get involved.

:blue_book: Refreshed community foundations
We’ve updated three core resources worth bookmarking:

If you’ve been here a while, these are worth a quick read.

What’s not changing

Our commitment to:

  • Listening closely to your feedback

  • Building in public whenever possible

  • Keeping this space a direct line between you and the product team

This refresh is about making the community easier to navigate and join, and better positioned for where Superhuman is headed, without losing what already makes it valuable.

If you notice anything unexpected or have any feedback on the new experience, please share it. The community works best when it evolves with the people in it.

Thanks for being part of it :purple_heart:

I have a question. Who comes up with a UI like this? Like really, is there a UX/UI department/team at Superhuman/Grammarly/Coda? Asking, as I do not see or feel it when I use the products…

I omitted Superman Mail, as that product at least has a good/great score on both from my pov.

I mean, I’m a young person with a sharp eye (still), I cannot imagine how it is for older people trying to read or see what is on the screens.

Hey @Cristian_Nichifor — can you try refreshing the page to see if you’re still experiencing this?

I have the same issue once connected. Whether on PC or mobile, even after refreshing the cache.

Yup, dark mode across all major browsers.

Dark reader saves my eyes on a daily basis ^^

On topic: Exciting news, I don’t know anything about superhuman but I trust that this is a good decision by Coda

Thanks so much again for flagging this, @Cristian_Nichifor !

Immediately after launch, a site setting was behaving unexpectedly, affecting how certain UI elements displayed. It should all be sorted now, but if anything still looks off on your end, let us know, and we’ll dig in. What you were seeing wasn’t the intended experience, and we hope it’s finally resolved for everyone

Try refreshing the page and let me know if it displays correctly. And if anything still seems hard to read or out of place, please don’t hesitate to share. This kind of feedback genuinely helps us catch and fix things quickly.

One small thing while we’re here: as the community grows, we ask that feedback remain constructive and respectful; it makes the space more useful for everyone, including the team reading along. Happy to keep the conversation going in that spirit.

Our full Code of Conduct is here if you’d like to take a look. :folded_hands:

The refresh looks great! Little by little saying goodbye to our belove Coda to become Superhuman docs.

I have only a small issue, previously the topics with unread messages appeared bold, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Probably some forgotten toggle in the configuration?

Hey, @Pablo_DV

Great call-out. Since we want to build for our members, which option do you like?

Option A

Option B

I know you asked Pablo, but I personally prefer option A.

Hello @Emma_Wyatt

+1 for option A :folded_hands:

And by the way, is it possible to increase the number of posts displayed on mobile homepage (only 3 top posts = will miss a lot of topics).

=> 6 or 7 top posts would be great

Thank you :folded_hands:

A is more obvious but B is more pleasant to the eye.

+1 for B, as it’s obvious enough for me.

UX wise, A makes more sense. Right now, the topic title has a font-weight of 400; you could bump it to 500 if you have it available, but 600 is too heavy based on my testing.

Hi, all! We went with Option A for now.

@Maxence_Walbrou. Thanks for your feedback on the number of topics displayed. The goal of this forum is to make it as clean and welcoming as possible. We’re going to keep it to 3 topics for now, but we’ll re-evaluate over the coming weeks to see if that’s working for our members and us. In the meantime, if you want to access all the latest topics quickly, there are a couple of ways you can edit your community experience to make it more valuable for you. Those include:

  1. You can add your own section to the hamburger menu next to your profile image in the top-right corner by using the “+” button, which displays the latest and new posts.

  2. You can create your own homepage and set the latest or newest posts as the default. Go to your profile > preferences > interface to select the Custom Homepage setting.

Hi @Ruggy-Joesten and @Emma_Wyatt ,

the refreshed look definitely feels sharper. However, on mobile (which is how I mostly access this forum) it seems to use screen real estate less efficiently than the previous version, see screenshots.

The larger left/right margins, the white frame around each post, and the larger font size reduce the number of characters per line quite significantly (see red arrows on screenshots). As a result, fewer lines fit on the screen, which means considerably more scrolling on an iPhone. And it also leads to more occurrences of awkward text justification (see the red square in the screenshot).

Is there a way to remove the frame, reduce the margin or adjust the font size to make better use of the available screen real estate?

Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback @Sebastien

We don’t have any immediate changes planned to margins, frames, or font size on mobile, but we’ve noted your comments and will keep an eye out for similar feedback from other members. Mobile feedback is important and valuable to use as we continue to refine the experience for our members.

The main concern on my side, as a mobile user of this community (and from what I see in the shared screenshots), is not so much the visual style as the reading efficiency on mobile. Because of the larger margins, the card frame, and the increased font size, the effective text width becomes quite narrow, with much more scrolling. This reduces the number of characters per line, resulting in significantly more scrolling when reading longer threads.

For discussion forums in particular, this can make the experience feel heavier compared to layouts that use the available screen width more efficiently.

If possible, it might be worth considering small adjustments such as slightly reducing the side margins or card padding on mobile. That could improve readability without changing the overall design.

I appreciate you keeping an eye on mobile feedback as more people use the updated layout. One small suggestion as well: phrases like “we are tracking this feedback” sometimes give the impression that simple usability tweaks require a long roadmap cycle, when in some cases they may just be small layout adjustments.

That’s sad. I’ve signed up to this community to talk about Coda. I actually don’t care about Superhuman or Grammarly. :frowning:

Hey @Tobias_Feistmantl

Totally fair reaction, and if Coda is your thing, that’s not changing. This space will continue to be a home for Coda users to ask questions, share ideas, and talk shop with other builders.

The update you’re seeing is mostly a visual refresh. Going forward, Coda, Grammarly, and Superhuman will each still have their own distinct community spaces. We’re just making it easier to navigate between them for folks who are curious about what’s happening across the ecosystem.

If you’d rather stay fully in the Coda-sphere with like-minded enthusiasts, you absolutely can. Nothing about the conversations here is going away. :slightly_smiling_face:
