Hi everyone,
Welcome back to Friday(ish) Features — a regular roundup of things that have quietly shipped across Coda. Some are small, some are a bit more substantial, but all of them add up to a smoother day-to-day experience.
Here’s what’s new:
Navigation & accessibility improvements
A solid batch of navigation and accessibility improvements has landed recently, making everyday interactions a little easier — especially if you spend a lot of time in docs with a keyboard.
Keyboard navigation
- Arrow keys now let you move within text content and across blocks.
- Pressing ESC shifts focus to the adjacent block’s option menu.
- Menus and submenus now correctly land focus on the first item when opened.
- F6 jumps you to the first interactive element inside a block.
Page list improvements
- Reorganizing pages just got easier with new reorder actions:
- Page up / Page down
- Un-nest
- Make top-level
- Move into a subpage
- Tooltips now appear when page names are too long to display in full.
Notifications
- Notifications now lazy-load with a loading indicator so things don’t feel stuck.
- Newly loaded notifications are announced for screen readers.
- The notification panel structure has been updated for better accessibility and screen reader support.
- Unread notifications now have clearer labeling.
Images
- Selecting images with the keyboard is smoother.
- Pressing Enter on a selected image now zooms it — no more accidentally replacing it with an empty block.
- Drag handles now have larger touch targets, making them easier to grab on any device.
Icon picker
- Custom icon uploads now give you clearer feedback when something’s happening.
- Dialog behavior and focus management have been tightened up.
- Visual and contrast updates make icons easier to see and interact with.
A lot of these changes live under the surface, but they’re the kind of thing you notice once they’re there.
Updated importer experience
We’ve refreshed the import flow for Notion, Asana, Confluence, and Quip.
What’s changed:
- A cleaner import dialog with a more intuitive layout
- Refined support links throughout the import process
- Better visibility of recently imported pages once they land in your workspace
Nothing dramatic, but bringing content into Coda should feel a bit more polished now.
Coda for Intune is now available
If your organization manages devices through Microsoft Intune, Coda is now available in the App Store with full Intune SDK integration.
Teams can now apply common MAM/MDM policies, including:
- Domain locking
- Authentication provider configuration
- Screenshot prevention
…all without losing access to their docs.
If you’ve noticed any of these changes in the wild, feel free to chime in below. Always curious to hear what’s making life easier, or what you’d still love to see improved!
