Re-usable docs and bigfixing

I support a group in a project management Coda doc. I am thinking about giving each member their own Coda doc, instead of one doc for all members using a bunch of filters. I would make a template doc and then make an instance of it for each member.

My question is about maintenance: if I find a bug in the template and need to fix it, can I fix it just once or would I need to fix it once per instance of the template? Is it possible to achieve re-usability and maintainability in a one-doc-per-user pattern?

hi @silviana_amethyst , welcome back, it has been a while

you can duplicate the doc and updates are per doc. there is no template solution as you may have in mind, see my blog below on why this is not likely to happen anytime soon.

what I propose in my blog is to use the Coda MCP via AntiGravity to modify your docs. That is not too difficult and good to learn. The MCP will update all docs following the same instructions.

good luck.
