Separate Activity tab from Comments in a Table

Currently we are not able to see Activity without enabling Comments. I prefer to consolidate comments to a small handful of main tables in my docs, but have supporting tables where I’d like to see activity on that row. Can we have a separate toggle for comments and activities in the table settings?

Possible workaround.

TL;DR: The MCP Workaround
With the Coda MCP, you can build a “Comment Sweeper” agent workflow. Yes, it’s a hack, but it works.

  1. Leave the “Comments and Activity” setting enabled on all of your tables.
  2. The MCP Agent can use the add_to_row and delete_thread tools.
  3. Periodically, the agent can scan supporting tables, read rogue comments, re-post them to the “Main Table”, and delete the original threads.
