Allow Filtering and Sorting in Coda Subtables (Project Layout & Related Tables)

I have created a doc with a Project table and then a set of bidirectional related tables: To Dos, Meetings, Documents, etc. I can then create a Project Layout to show all the related items. However I can not add any additional filters or the “Filter Bar” to these subtables in the layout because of Coda’s limitation of not allowing filters on subtables. The best workaround I have found is to create a canvas field and preset it to a template (using the “Parent row” feature). This works but feels very hackish. If I want to update this template it is an ordeal as I need to delete all the current prepopulated fields and re populate them with the new template. It creates 1000s of Views in my Doc Map and I also notice that my browser is slower at responding and seems to be doing a lot more work when the tables are embedded this way.
I would love to see the addition of full filtering and sorting of a subtable!

I use subtables and I can filter and sort them at will.
The trick is to use a formula, and access to the formula is sort of hidden.

Hoover your mouse somewhere near the subtable-title and use the f symbol to add (or edit) a formula:

When you hoover your mouse to far the the right, you will get to see the table options menu, but for filtering that is not the place to be - and yes , it is a bit misleading:
