I noticed recently that in the Filter options there’s now a default that you have to select “contains any of,” “contains exactly” etc.
Is there a way to turn this off? Especially for the filter bar?
I just want to be able to check mark the items I want to filter for, and want to be able to clear out the filter in the filter bar without having to go to the options menu – which entirely defeats the purpose of the filter bar itself.
Are there options for this? It’s an “improvement” I don’t actually want. (I hated it in airtable too).
thoughts?

My thought is that it is fine as it is.
Sometimes I want a range, sometimes I want to (un)select two or three entries, sometimes I want to filter based on a partial match.
I definitely want to be able to choose how I filter.

this “improvement” makes the filter bare useless because I cannot clear it without going to the optoins menu. I would like to have the option to go back to the old version of the filters/filter bar. The possiblity to check box what I want to look at is now ONLY available by going to the options menu, which is a reduction in functions that were previously available.

Hi Christina
You can clear the filter bar by clicking here:
And to select items via checkbox is available by clicking on the filter. Note that only select lists will give you a drop down like this:

Yes, I can see that. However, if there is a filter set in the Options menu, then there is now no way to do one’s own filter in the filter bar without first removing the filter in the options side. I could be wrong, but I believe that previously, the filter in Options and filter in the filter bar functioned independently, that is to say, one could override the options filter with filter in the filter bar – and yes, I’m mostly talking about select lists, which we use extensively in our work.
I recall a moment a few months ago when all a sudden the filter bar wasn’t working the way i thought it used to.
Am I correct that there has been a change?
