Has anybody tried using the Coda mcp tools via rube.app here: Coda MCP Integration | AI Agent Tools | Composio ?
Looks like a LOT of tools (101!). @Dustin_Good2’s MCP server has been working well for me in most cases, but curious if anybody has given this a shot.
Very cool. Makes me wonder if we’ll end up with an ultimate mcp or a few broken out for certain needs. Builder mcp, admin mcp, pack mcp?
What’s been your favorite use case so far?
Thanks for the nudge! Been meaning to….hopefully I get time before this weekend.
I’ve been using it with Claude Desktop to simplify a data collection system that my org uses that was created years ago–unfortunately it’s a very complex doc with tons of tables, and Claude has a tendency to try to see all of the tables in the doc even when given instructions not to, which zaps the entire context window. But when it doesn’t do that, it has been a great thought partner for helping to rebuild the system. I don’t really let it write directly in the doc, as I’ve found it has some issues doing that correctly, but it has given me good direction (and plenty of complex column formulas).
Do you give it table and / or row ids?
I’ve taken to creating Claude projects that focus on one workflow for a given doc. I provide sample csvs of the tables for knowledge docs and include entity IDs as part of the system instructions.
Still not perfect but it rarely goes of the rails anymore.
Ah the sample csvs of the tables for project knowledge is a great idea! I’m going to give that a shot.
The workaround I’ve used to try to avoid going of the rails with token use is disabling individual tools, but I should also try being more specific by providing IDs at the top of the conversation or in the project knowledge.
Really appreciate this thread, and it’sgreat to see the server Dustin whipped up. Admittedly its a bit beyond my technical skills.
I’ve been experimenting with Notion’s connection Claude, have built pages/databases and formuals decently well. Very much wish there was a “native” mcp for Coda to do the same. I love the idea of using Coda as the knowledge base for client projects and then using Claude to reference docs/rows to inform project strategy/building proposals etc.
Just saw Coda announced an official MCP forthcoming
Thanks for sharing, will have to check out the Rube tool
Lets wait 6month and MCP will be dead or evolved by then
Is this still low on the list? At this point not having an MCP is starting to be a blocker to using Coda….
I participate in the Beta of the MCP and use mainly Antigravity to access Coda docs, I also use Claude (but a bit less). In general I am happy with the MCP, although I see some points of improvements like adding the creation of buttons and automations.
So in short, it is coming.
Cheers, Christiaan
OMG, release the Coda MCP already!!!
