Introducing the Hall of Champions

Since the early days of this community, a small group of people has shown up in a way that’s hard to put into words, and impossible to ignore.

They answered the hard questions. They turned forum threads into breakthrough moments for people who were stuck. They brought warmth to every corner of this space, celebrated other people’s wins like their own, knew when to push back and offer constructive criticism when it mattered, and screamed from the rooftops when something was off (and they were usually right). They kept showing up through every product evolution, every rebrand, every change. They pushed us, and the product, to be the best version of ourselves. They didn’t do it for recognition. They did it because that’s just who they are.

Today, we’re giving them the recognition they’ve always deserved.

The original Community Champions are moving into a class all their own: the Hall of Champions, our highest community distinction, reserved for the builders, teachers, advocates, and longtime contributors who helped make this community what it is.

This isn’t a new tier. It’s a permanent thank you.

You’ll notice a new badge on their profiles marking the distinction. Consider it a small but permanent sign of what they’ve meant to this community.

If you’ve ever had a question answered, a blocker cleared, or just felt a little more at home here because of someone else, there’s a good chance one of these people had something to do with it.

Join us in celebrating them. They’ve more than earned it. :tada: :champagne:

Huge thank you to all of the hall of famers! I wouldn’t be the Maker I am without you.

Without these GOATS, I’d just be smashing my keyboard, crying and praying for things to work.

Big thanks! :turkey:

@Paul_Danyliuk is a legend among legends!! I’ve learned an incredible amount from his prolific replies, posts, youtube videos, and docs. Forever grateful to him for helping me and many others get the most out of Coda.

When I read all those names, wow. I’ve always admired them, actually envied them a bit. Each one is special in their own way. Paul is so impressive and, with his lessons, has enabled me to understand Coda better. Christiaan is so clear, so analytical, and has the wonderful gift of explaining complex things. And the sum of his contributions is enormous. I’d need six months just to work through his lessons. And Bill is sometimes completely incomprehensible to me. What he does seems otherworldly. More exciting than any thriller when he develops complex solutions with antigravity and shares them with us. What an experience, what a personality. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy for me to follow his particularly eloquent English (I have the feeling that even the translation programs fail at it, and I’ve failed at it twice already). And thank you for what Max is currently showing us all about the possibilities with CodaClaw. I’ve been with Coda since 2019 and wish us all many more good years and Coda itself a real breakthrough – ideally internationally. Thank you, thank you – to all you heroes!

I’ve honestly lost count of how many times Paul, Scott, and Christiaan bailed me out and saved that little bit of sanity I have left. The whole group deserves this recognition!

Well deserved and glad to see Coda honoring them. At least 5 of those names I’ve interacted with, and they have always been most helpful.

Thank you all! Brings tears to my eyes to read all that feedback :face_holding_back_tears:

I’ve been somewhat absent from the Community in the last few years, but I’m gonna make amends! Maybe new videos sometime soon?

Thank you to our champions!!! Thank you @Ruggy-Joesten for finding a way to virtually acknowledge the work these Coda makers have put in over the years. This community wouldn’t be the same without them.

We are all in a better place when @Paul_Danyliuk is here and sharing knowledge! Consider that an enthusiastic YES for as much content as you wish to create :ballot_box: :white_check_mark:  :film_projector:

I owe almost all of my Coda knowledge to @Christiaan_Huizer and his many posts and Medium articles, to @Paul_Danyliuk for HLP_table tricks and @Scott_Collier-Weir for his Youtube videos.

Very well deserved Hall of Champions title to all of them!

I’m taking this as a compliment. LOL But know, that it’s not just you. I get that a lot. My comments should come with a forward-disclaimer:

What you’re about to read will probably not land well until a year has passed.

When will Superhuman realize that one of the best support resources imaginable would be an agent that embodies all the Champion’s content as a massive knowledge graph that itself contains a subagent that is always pruning and sustaining relevance with the latest product features?

As we often do on X -

@grok@champ Tell me how to overcome this limitation?

One of the biggest friction points of forum interaction is the latency that exists between question → awareness by the Champion → answer. Close this gap with agents.

If you lack the resources to pull this off, offer to compensate the Champions for developing it.

Wow, thanks so much for the recognition! It’s an honour to see my name on a list alongside these greats. Like some others, I haven’t been as active lately as in years past, but I still think this community is one of the most actively helpful I’ve ever been a part of. People will just go and build out complete demo solutions in response to someone’s question, it’s really awesome to see. While I hope that AI tools can tighten the answer loop latency that @Bill_French talks about, I also hope that there remains a space for us to exchange future knowledge human to human.
