Spellcheck Issues in Mac Desktop App

Is anyone having issues with spellcheck on the Mac desktop app? For me it doesn’t work at all, no form of spellcheck shows up. Neither through an in app spellcheck nor through my MacBook’s built in spellcheck.

I would love to use the desktop app, but because of this I’m still having to use SHDs through a chrome app.

Ugh, now spell check is not even working in Chrome for me! I do not understand what is going on.

For anyone interested in the fix I came up with for the web version, I had to download the Superhuman Go extension, which allowed Grammarly to connect to my Superhuman Doc. Still haven’t found a fix for the desktop version.

Hey @CmdrFirezone38! Welcome to the community!

Thanks for flagging this, and nice detective work getting the web version sorted :man_detective:

Here’s a quick explanation: In Superhuman Docs, spelling and grammar checks use the Superhuman Go or Grammarly writing assistant, not a built-in spellchecker. Until that’s set up, you won’t see any underlines. That’s why adding the Go extension fixed things for you on the web.

On desktop, the same assistant has a Mac app, but in-editor suggestions in the standalone Docs desktop app are still being released. For now, the best option is what you’re already using: Chrome or Edge with the extension. I’ll let the team know about the desktop version and update you when it’s fully supported.

You can find more setup details here, if needed.

Let me know if you’re still not seeing anything, and I can try and help you navigate.
