Systems Thinking Workshops

The ability to think clearly and define processes precisely has always made a HUGE difference in the world of No-Code.

This ability is making an even BIGGER difference with AI AGENTS!

Business managers without Computer Science degrees or professional Software Engineering backgrounds, but who know SOPs and have extensive spreadsheet experience, are well placed to boost their business’s productivity with AI technologies.

However…

I have seen them hit a BARRIER that limits their progress when they lack the CONCEPTUALIZATION tools needed to think clearly, communicate precisely, and collaborate effectively on complex logical problems and solutions.

For decades, professionals in the IT Industry have had such tools. Systems Thinking, Systems Analysis, Data Modelling, and Solution Design: these are skills used to cut through the confusion and complexity of automating complex business processes.

Just a small subset of these TOOLS makes an ENORMOUS difference to the effectiveness of ‘Citizen Developers’ when they build their own automations using No-Code technologies and AI.

My next 2 workshops (see below) will focus on three easy-to-grasp ‘Systems Thinking’ tools.

These will transform how you THINK, COMMUNICATE, and SPECIFY automated business processes.

When used with ordinary No-Code tools (Excel, Notion, Airtable, Coda, N8N, etc.), these simple tools boost your productivity by at least 10x.

With AI technologies, these tools boost productivity another 10x.

AI systems amplify your thinking processes. If you are vague, uncertain, imprecise, or unclear: the AI results you get will reflect that. But if you are precise, specific, intentional, well-structured, and extremely clear, then AI technologies will amplify that and generate solutions that are far more likely to be successful and productive.

The three easy-to-grasp tools I will be sharing in the workshop are:

Tool 1: Data Models - mapping real-world business objects to precise Data Tables, attributes, relationships, and formulas in the solution.

Tool 2: Logic Mapping – we map the entire Business Process as a set of State-Transitions for each Business Object. This gives a precise logic for every transaction.

Tool 3: Workflow Layouts - how to map all the above into the exact Screens, Dialogs, Menus, Buttons, and AI Inferences needed for the Business Process to maximize automation, scalability, throughput, and ROI impact.

Each technique only takes a few minutes to grasp - but will provide a lifetime of mental clarity.

When I discovered these three techniques, it felt like getting a pair of magic X-Ray Spectacles. Suddenly, I could see what once confused and baffled me. I could think clearly and collaborate with others, rapidly zeroing-in on solutions to business problems. They gave me a mind like a laser beam!

Now, years later, I find that these techniques let me command AI systems better than my colleagues who lack them.

To them, I appear to ‘walk on water.’ They want to know my secret. So my 2026 Mission is to pass on this powerful knowledge so others can master it in their businesses.

There are two workshops: one for EU and one for US timezones. Both follow the same agenda.

Hope to see you there. If not, recordings will also be available here.

Thanks to those who popped in to the 2nd SYSTEMS THINKING workshop on Friday.

For those who missed it, here is the recording.

Max’s core idea is spot-on: AI—especially agentic systems—acts as an amplifier of your thinking. If your process models, data structures, and logic flows are vague or incomplete, the agents/LLMs will reflect those flaws and often magnify them (hallucinations, brittle workflows, poor reliability). But when you bring rigorous systems-thinking clarity upfront—precise data models, explicit state-transition logic, and intentional UI/workflow layouts—the AI can deliver dramatically better outcomes, often 10× or more in productivity, as Max claims.

At one of my companies, our AI engineers use an internally developed framework called LEAP (Literate-Extend-by-Agent Programming), crafted from Donald Knuth’s landmark Literate Programming philosophy. Picture Literate Programming merged with Context Engineering.

Max is on a similar, and likely better, path with systems thinking as the context for agents. This aligns very well with current best practices in agentic AI development.

Overall, this is not just “right,” it’s actually quite forward-leaning because it embraces non-engineers building real business value with agentic AI in 2026. Mastering these systems-thinking habits before diving into prompts, tools, or orchestration code is one of the highest-leverage practices right now, and one might argue that it is the pinnacle of context engineering.

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for this approach.
