Why does the Coda Chrome extension hijack new tabs?

It seems like a very weird behavior and I can’t find any way to turn it off… or even reference to it.

Definitely is the extension as things revert back to normal when I disable it.

I’m using Brave. It’s not actually an issue on Chrome as what I’m seeing is the standard Chrome homepage.

Weirdest part of all is having Google’s usual homepage banner above a search box that is actually powered by Brave…

I don’t, but it just switches the new tab background from Braves default to the one you see in my screen shot. Disable it and everything is immediately normal again.
