Current location

Can we get a function to get the coordinates (on mobile) of our current location. I would make embedding maps, the distance() function and many others so much more usable.

Any update on this? Alternatively, assuming the platform (iOS/Android) supports – could this be done custom via the API? I want to record the location of the phone when a user commits an update to a table in a doc.
