Launched: MCP improvements + live webinar

Hey everyone!

We’ve been heads down :ship: shipping MCP improvements since April. Here’s what’s new.

:bar_chart: Your AI client can now build charts in Coda

Create and configure charts in Coda without you having to touch the UI. That includes all six types: bar, line, area, pie, scatter, and bubble. If you’ve been pulling data from an AI client into Coda and then manually setting up visualizations, the Coda MCP can handle that step now too.

:repeat_button: Close feedback loops without leaving your AI client

Your AI client can now resolve and reopen comment threads directly. If you’re running a review workflow through an AI client, you no longer have to switch back to Coda to close out feedback.

:control_knobs: More control over how your doc looks

The MCP now supports color-coded select options (think Status and Priority pills), progress bars with custom colors, divider styles, and 30 date display formats. More of what you’d configure manually in the UI is now doable through the MCP.

:face_with_monocle: Full view configuration

table_view_manage saw significant expansion—including detail layouts, form layouts, personal filters, shared filters, column order, conditional formatting rules, and more. Your AI can now set up views the way you would.

:white_check_mark: Under the hood

We’ve also shipped a set of reliability improvements, including better guardrails, more accurate table-structure reading, and page-protection enforcement across MCP write tools. The Technical FAQ below covers the details for anyone who wants them. You can also check out the full changelog.

All of these are live now for anyone using the Coda MCP. Let us know what you think!

:man_raising_hand: Questions or feedback? Drop them below :backhand_index_pointing_down: , and tag @Bharat_Batra for anything technical. And check out our Getting Started with Coda MCP webinar on June 24th.

Awesome! Loving it. Bonus points would be for the ability for Doc Editors to make mild edits to docs through the MCP…

Hey Ruggy

I was very enthused to see you’d add full table configuration, a really nice unexpected surprise.

Given this, can we expect Automation configuration to be added some time soon?

Hey @Bell_Arden!

We intend to bring the majority of Coda’s most loved functionality to our MCP over time, and automations are high up on the list! Once we have a more concrete timeline to share, I will update you. But it’s definitely on the roadmap :motorway:
