Would love to see verticle lines seperating each column in tables when in table view! I believe it’s a lot easier to view data with vertical lines than without.
100% agree. I hate not having vertical lines in tables. The vertical lines make reading a table MUCH easier. I find myself getting frustrated with coda tables because i’m so used to seeing things super clearly and quickly in spreadsheets. Please give us an option to have vertical lines as well as the color of the lines. Id prefer them darker for sure.

There should be a global stylesheet for tables, including gridlines, shading (especially even/odd row shading), coloration, and so forth. C’mon Coda team, the system is amazing and this is not particularly hard to implement, but it would make a big difference.
The feature appeared briefly along with the ‘simple tables’ (aka grids) beta, then was taken down for further work on it. So I guess we’re getting it sometime soon when simple tables launch.
Is such a simple fundamental feature still not available?

Going on 2.5 years since I first requested this. Ive actually moved a lot over to SmartSuite simply because viewing data in Coda isnt as clean. My team can read and sort through data much quicker with a real grid view.
I randomly have the option of vertical gridlines for some, but not all, of my tables today. anyone else?

Bringing this one back up @Ruggy-Joesten . I have gotten complaints about this one already, especially from uses with vision issues, and especially on full-page tables.

Hey Evan, thanks for bringing this up again and for highlighting the accessibility angle.
For some historical context, vertical gridlines for regular tables were actually released for a short time a couple of years ago, but we removed them because the work wasn’t finished. There were some issues with borders and overlays in certain table states that we didn’t want to leave in place. This feature has been on our list since then, and honestly, the reason it hasn’t moved forward is limited engineering bandwidth, not because we don’t think it’s worth doing.
The good news is that work on this has recently resumed as part of some related table improvements, so it isn’t being ignored. I don’t have a release date to share yet, and I don’t want to promise something I can’t deliver. I’ll make sure the feedback about vision impairment and full-page tables from this thread is shared, since those details help make the case internally.
