Product feature: Shortcut improvements in Docs
What changed: New keyboard shortcuts for commenting on a block and copying a block link
What we did: Two additions—Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+M now comments on the entire block your cursor is in (paragraph, heading, or list item) with nothing selected, so there’s no need to highlight first; if the block already has a thread, it opens that thread and focuses the reply box instead of starting a new one, while selections, images, and embeds work as before. Cmd+Ctrl+L (Mac) / Ctrl+Alt+L copies a link to a block from the keyboard—linking to the text block at your cursor in a canvas, or the current view in a table or grid—with a snackbar to confirm, an entry in the shortcuts help panel, and safe handling on international keyboards (it respects the AltGraph flag, so AltGr+L still types characters like the Polish “ł”). Forms and layouts updates
We’re back with another set of Docs features, all about forms and layouts—giving you more control over how your forms behave and how your layouts are presented.
For Pro Tier and above:
- Conditional form logic. Build forms that adapt as they’re filled out—fields show or hide based on earlier answers, so people only see what’s relevant to them. Works with select list, toggle, checkbox, and relation fields.
For all tiers:
- Customizable form submit button. Customize the submit button’s text, icon, color, and size—and localize the copy for another language.
- Hide the table/view link in row modals. Configure a layout to hide the link that takes people from an opened row back to its full table or view, keeping them focused on the experience you’ve built. (This is a presentation choice, not a security control—people can still reach the table through other paths.)
- Add row button in subtables. Subtables can now show an add-row button right in the header, giving you a clear, built-in way to add new items.
Together, these make forms and layouts feel more intentional. Whether you’re building a public-facing form, a focused row view, or a subtable-powered tracker, you’ve got the controls to shape exactly what people see and how they interact with your doc.
